Life Transition

Psychotherapy is the collaborative process of identifying areas of mental and/or emotional distress in your life, or issues otherwise getting in the way of you living optimally, and developing a plan to resolve or better manage those issues.

Perhaps you’re...

  • learning to live with or support someone with a health issue

  • overwhelmed with work or school stressors

  • newly single or an empty nester wondering what’s next

  • feeling anxious or depressed

  • dealing with grief & loss

If any of this resonates with you, psychotherapy can help.

Nature Therapy

Did you know that spending time in mother nature’s office is one of the best prescriptions for mental health and wellness? Absolutely!

Nature therapy, also referred to as ecotherapy, is an experiential treatment approach based on the symbiotic relationship between humans and their environment. It involves reconnecting to nature through various activities and rituals and yields many healing benefits. Even if you can’t actually be outside or you’re simply not an outdoor person, there are so many creative ways to bring nature indoors.

Time and time again research has shown that green spaces make people happy. Moreover, it’s been shown to reduce symptoms of anxiety, stress, depression, high blood pressure, ADHD and more. In my practice, I often integrate nature therapy with other modalities to guide clients on a journey of self exploration and healing.

If this sounds like something you’d be interested in, I’d love to be your guide.

Highly Sensitive Person (HSP)

Have you been called too sensitive? Told that you make a big deal of things? Maybe you’re deeply moved to tears by music, beauty & the arts. Or, more bothered than others by time pressure, loud noises, lights, certain textures or smells. If this sounds familiar, you might be a Highly Sensitive Person.

Psychologist and researcher, Elaine Aron, coined the term Highly Sensitive Person to refer to a sensory-processing sensitivity trait found in 15-20% of the population. This personality trait manifests as a stronger reactivity to internal and external stimuli such as light, noises, pain, hunger and smells. HSP’s also process information more deeply and thus are often more easily overwhelmed both physically & mentally.

If you are an HSP, the good news is that you’re an HSP! It is not a weakness nor something that needs to be fixed. It does, however, require understanding and making some adjustments.

If you think you might be an HSP, take the quiz to find out more.
