Frequently asked questions.

  • No. All you need is a laptop, phone or tablet and a secure internet connection. You will be provided with a link and you only need to click the link to join the session.

  • Both client and therapist are responsible for ensuring confidentiality. The software & equipment I use for sessions and your health record is HIPAA compliant and secure. Also, sessions are never recorded.

As the client, you are responsible for ensuring your environment is free from other people who might overhear session content.

  • It depends.

In the US, I'm licensed and governed by the States of Texas, Virginia and Florida. Therefore, if you happen to move or travel within the US, but outside these specific states, we'll need to make other arrangements.

If you’re living/moving abroad, various factors will need to be considered based on your location. Please inquire for more information.

  • For best results, your environment should be quiet and free of distractions so that you are comfortable to speak freely & actively engage.

Allowing at least 5 minutes before each session to set up your phone/computer helps to feel prepared and less anxious beforehand.

If it makes you comfortable, feel free to bring a cup of tea/coffee to sip.

Be authentic in your sharing. Therapy is a time to be freely and completely yourself. You will not be judged here.

If you feel that my approach is not working for you, say so. I’m more than happy to discuss this with you and to help with referrals to a new therapist, if need be.

  • The 15 minute consultation is an opportunity to get answers to some common questions & to find out if we’re a good client/therapist match.

Here are some examples of things we might discuss during consultation:

    -Why you’re considering therapy now

-What you’re looking for in a therapist

-Whether I have experience treating issues like yours

    -Financial and payment information

    -Availability and scheduling

    -Required paperwork

*If after this conversation it is determined that I am not the best fit for your unique needs, I will gladly assist with referral to a different mental health provider(s).

In all things be a master. Of what you do and say and think. Be free.
